Auburn University to host 2025 Lee County Special Olympics Track and Field meet on April 8

AUBURN, Ala.- Lee County Special Olympics will host the 56th-annual Lee County Track and Field Meet on Tuesday, April 8, at Auburn University’s Hutsell-Rosen Track.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. with the games set to start at 9:15 a.m. The ceremony will feature words of encouragement and an invocation from local special guests, the presentation of the Special Olympics Flame of Hope and participation from students at Auburn Junior High School and other local schools. Students will assist with carrying the torch and reading the athlete oath.
This event is the longest-running competition hosted by Lee County Special Olympics, now in its 56th year. More than 275 athletes representing four delegations — Adults, Auburn City Schools, Opelika City Schools and Lee County Schools — will participate in this year’s meet.
The competition will include a full day of events, with six field events and 15 track events scheduled.

- 100M Dash
- 100M Race Walk
- 4x100 Relay Teams
